A Message from Principal Hostetter

Dear Baldi Family,

Now when we say Baldi is the best middle school in the city, we have even more proof to back it up.

I am delighted to share the exciting news that Baldi has been declared a School District of Philadelphia Model School, an honor achieved by only 9% of the district’s schools!

This week the school district released results from its School Progress Report (SPR) for the 2018-2019 school year. Schools are given an SPR score based on a number of measurements, including data regarding student academic growth, school climate, suspension rates, and parent engagement and involvement.

Based on our SPR score, Baldi ranks as the Number 1 middle school in Philadelphia, outperforming all charter and special-admission middle schools. In addition, the report revealed that Baldi has achieved three consecutive years of SPR score growth and earned an incredible 96% of the points available for student academic growth.

These are incredible achievements, ones we could not have made without our wonderful teachers, staff, counselors, students, and, most of all, our parents and other caregivers. Your involvement in your child’s education and participation in Baldi life are key factors in our success. Take a moment to congratulate your child and to pat yourself on the back, too.
