Gifted Program

Baldi Middle School Gifted Program for Environmental Science

Under the new guidance and leadership of MG Coordinator, Dr. Bonita Gondo, Baldi Middle School’s Mentally Gifted Program is off to a great start. This year, old tried-and-true practices will be combined with new, innovative ways for your MG child to grow as a person and a learner. Students will spend time once a week at the Verree House, a historical house turned Environmental Enrichment Center pictured below. Here, students will spend their time expanding their minds through projects and hands-on experiential and environmental-based education. Gifted students will work on:

●      Carver Science Fair Projects

●      PJAS Science Fair Projects

●      Water Testing of the Pennypack Creek

●      Create Pollinator Gardens in partnership with the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion

●      Participate in the Mussels Pilot Project with the Fairmount Water Works

Through these amazing projects, students will be immersed in their environment and gain a rich understanding of their immediate environmental world. Students will work hard, produce meaningful results, and (most importantly) have fun! Teens learn best when they can interact with their world and construct their own, meaningful concepts of the task at hand. You can be sure that your child will come home exhilarated from a day well spent and excited for their next adventure at the Verree House Environmental Enrichment Center.
